Lately, I’ve been reading How Should We View Our Children in the Church? by Joel R. Beeke, and as I near the end, I came across a section that really stood out—ten key aspects of our duty to bring our children to Christ. As Christian parents, many of these may seem like obvious truths, yet in the busyness of daily life, it’s easy to overlook or neglect some of them. Sometimes, seeing them clearly laid out in a visual list can serve as a helpful reminder—keeping us grounded and focused on what truly matters in raising our children in the faith.

1. Be fully convinced that our children need Jesus and His salvation (Eph. 2:3 & John 3:5)
2. Realize that our children belong to the Lord (1 Sam. 1:20)
3. Surrender our children to the Lord (Ps. 66:8-9 & Ps. 121:7)
4. Speak to and live with our children in a Christ-centered way (Heb. 4:16 & 2 Cor. 5:7)
5. Strive to make a godly impression on our children with our lives
6. Show our children reverence and joy toward God (Ps. 33:18)
7. Teach our children the whole counsel of God, both law and gospel
8. Offer our children Christ centered views of current events
9. Lovingly warn our children about being outside of Christ (Ps. 49:20 & Ps. 73:27-28)
10. Become spiritual mentors for our grandchildren (Ps. 103:17 & Ps. 128:6)
